About Us
Growing up near Crestwood and Rock Hill, MO I spent a lot of time riding my bike up and down Watson Rd (Route 66) and have fond memories of the Motels, Buildings and Sites along Route 66. Sadly I also remember the bulldozers knocking down these very same site to make room for progress. I think that is why I am so draw to Tucumcari, NM because it is still a great example of how Route 66 and The Mother Road. Route66Originals is an attempt to bring back those memories of a time long gone but not forgotten. My Wife and I took our first trip to Get Our Kicks on Route 66 in 2011 when I purchased a 1965 Ford Falcon 2 door wagon in Costa Mesa, CA. We started our journey east. I will need to write a blog post on that trip that took 9 days due to the wagon over heating along the route. Needless to say it was the best trip of my life.
